How to Play 2048

2048 is a sliding tile puzzle game. The board has 16 tiles. You move all tiles in one of four directions — up, down, left, or right. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile with double the value. After every move, a new tile (either 2 or 4) appears in a random empty spot.

Your goal is to create a tile with the number 2048. But you can keep going beyond 2048 for even higher scores!

Controls

Desktop: Arrow keys (↑ ↓ ← →)
Mobile: Swipe in the direction you want to move

Strategy Tips

• Keep your largest tile in a corner. Never move it out.
• Pick a "main" direction and stick to it (usually left or up).
• Build a snake-like chain of descending values along one edge.
• Avoid moving in the opposite direction of your chain — it breaks the pattern.
• Think one move ahead. Don't rush.
